The Final Game of Preseason...

not game 7 of... you know... that series we've been chasing for over half a century.

As you know, or maybe you didn't. Either way, it was decided by the NM Department of Fan Happiness that in this season of rebuilding I would only recap Canucks wins. Not only will it be a huge work-saver for me, but also a small and useless way to keep us fans from wearing the grind of constant, near endless losses.

Not many losses if you don't count them all.

This Nucks game in the ROG looked to be like other preseason games so far... get down a couple goals early and not get back up.

Not only did the Nucks get back up, they WON!!! In the ROG!!! They're undefeated in the preseason! The final game of the preseason.

Nucks gave up 2 goals early in the 1st, got one back on the PP with double tips from Bess and DeBrusk from a Ronnie seeing-puck shot.

In the 2nd, some slick work behind the net from DeBrusk, he passes out front to Lekker who sends a saucer to Petey who dekes from fore to aft and lifts the puck over Joey's glove. 2-2 after 2. That's not so bad.

In the final period, the Kraks score on a 2-on-1 where offside rules don't apply.

Nucks get another PP to tie it up with a great pass from Karlsson to Zeev. 3-3 tie and all to play for in a pointless game. Or is it?

The NHL dot com scoreboard tells a different story.

After some further considerations by the league web team, the Canucks goal counts. And the fictional Krak goal does not.

Even better, on a late PP, the Nucks wear down the league's preferred winner of the game. Some nifty passing and a Brocket glances off DeBrusk's jersey and in the net.
