Most Important Loss of the Preseason!
If this is how you build a regional hockey rivalry, wake me up when the building is complete.
Now I'm wondering why I volunteered to cover it. The high pay? No, it's the same no pay as the reg. Masochism? No, that's the basic entry fee for NM. Got nothing...
And for 2 periods, neither did the Nucks. Backup to the backup goalie had a shaky start. Pete was having brainfarty stick tips on his own shaky goalie. Forbort used the farty end of his body deflect the shot past Lanky. 2-zip Krakeneers after 1.
Things got better for the Nucks in the 2nd. After they got worse.
Nucks turn over the puck in center ice... so many turnovers with this not-our-best roster. Anyhow, after the turn over, new kid, Mynio loses his man in front of the net and Nucks are down by 3. However, it can be noted Ronnie lost his guy too... so it was a double D for our D.
No worries... later in the 2nd, a bobbly play by Pete at the Sea blueline gave Myers a chance to stretch his wings pot a wrap around goal.
Sure, the Nucks push back in the 3rd, but not enough push... some shoving and 3 penalties later, the Nucks lose to the Krakling's near opening night roster 3-1.
Yay! One more preseason game out of the way.
Pre-Impressions
Not a total loss for the 'Special Teams' - Nucks PP sucked, however the PK was strong and perfect.
Nucks gave up 9 turnovers. In the 1st. 18 in the game. Impressive. Gotta save that kinda fresh baking for the ROG.
Suter returned from an extended voyage with BC Faeries and looked like he disembarked prematurely. Maybe once he shakes the barnacles and rust he can be a contributor.
Good to see Pete on the sea ice again. Even if looked bored and disengaged.
We're not going to start whining about his play. We'll save that for Oct. 9th.
Myers played a pro game - got the sole Nucking goal, so kudos to him.
Who else impressed? I do not know. Not my job, that's why they pay Taco the big money. To know what to say about a group of disengaged AHL+ players.

Again no Shortie coverage tonight for... preseason reasons. And worse, it's the home mic-droolers in Climate Emergency arena pumping up their average players. Enjoy.

Myers takes the call.
Taco Talks Tough about nothing much.
Indifferent, low effort preseason game - not unexpected. But still...
Next game, the Nucks have to fly over a big mountain range to play in the old SaddleBarn on Saturday. Enjoy the preseason as it will over soon enough. Ok, maybe not as soon as we'd like, but before you know, it will be May and our drinking binges will be in fine shape.
