And then, Kuz sets a record too. Gets #39 with a shootout goal - in the 1st period! How is that possible?! Hirose sent a long Huggie-style PP pass to Kuz. He rolls into the zone and snaps a shot by Dostal who is still wondering how the hell they got to the shootout so fast.
But, sadly for the Nucks, us and Connor Bedard, the Soggy Ducks didn't get a sorely needed loser point.
Instead they get a PP goal of their own. Which is a really tough thing to do against the league's worst PK - not even LA could do that. But, F*** a *uck, they did.

We're going to skip the 2nd period. For a couple reasons. Not just because Anna Hiemn scored to tie the game and pulled our wispy little lootoo string hopes with the promise of a fowl comeback. Not just that, but I forget the other reason.

The 3rd became more interesting... as Dekey Pete drew 3 Ducks to his flock, passed to Di Giuseppe, who shot and the rebound came to Millsie, alone out front, who flocked the puck past Dostal, who was wondering where the flock his flock were.
EP 101. That's the GWG - and Elias gets the GWP.
From there the Ducks mucked around and made Demmers work for the 5-alarm saves he made with zero alarm.

To be fair, beating the 3rd worst team in the 2nd last game of the season, isn't the achievement we were hoping for a scant (or endless) 79 games ago.
Imagine if the Sith JR had held sway with Franny and fired Bruce last season and put his sock Tocchet in place in the summer. Very likely the Nucks would have made the final 16.
And get bounced in the 1st round. Playoff hockey is a different game than the 82 game qualification round. Looks to be especially mean and nasty this year. Gary has gotta get those TV ratings up.
Anyhow, not our problem. Nucks have to get through the prelims before we worry about the 2nd season.
