NUCKS SCORE MORE THAN 2 - NEEDED 4.
A MUST WIN GAME THAT GOT AWAY.
But still, Nucks picked up a loser point with Brock's buzzer beating 2nd goal of the game with under 3 seconds left in the 3rd. Sure, I just gave away the highest point of our Nucking hope, but 3 seconds of hope is better than none at all.
Canucks now have more loser points than any team in the league with 12. That's worth 6 full Yays! Kind of.
Unfortunate the Nucks can't perform snappy line changes in OT. Seems it's tough to make efficient changes in OT because there's so many players on the ice for 3-on-3 or something.
Oh well... we're sure it's not a coaching thing.
Wrong guy going on the ice at that time. The game pretty much was a microcosm of this whole season. #Canucks

1ST
Both teams play to the playoff race draw... however, the Nucks get badly outshot. Again.
Shots 13-3 blues... does this team even want to get into the playoffs? Cuz win one, sleep thru one isn't gonna get us very far.
Twitch
0-0 after 1 and the game is still to be decided. In OT, unfortunately.
2ND
Looking a titch better in the second...already have 4 shots! #moralvictories
Twitch
As hot as the Nucks looked, compared to how ineffective they were in the 1st, Blues get on the board first.
Fuck... blues score.
Twitch
Off hughes, yet.
Nucks trail 1-0 after 2. And you know what they say about the Nucks trailing after 2.
3RD
Doesn't matter what they say. Even if it does... a minute into the 3rd, Nucks tie it up, from the hardest hitter on the team.
WOOOO KIEF! Ties it up.
Twitch
What if the Nucks instead of losing the tie, they gained the lead?
Wonder no more, as Brock scores his 200th NHL goal, beating a screened Beenningtone blocker side.
WOOO BESS! #200!
Twitch
Canucks lead 2-1! In the 3rd! Only about 15 minutes to keep the lead.
However, right off the own-zone draw, which Suter loses - as his win record was horrible - just 15%. Anyways, right off the draw, the Blues score as DeBrusk doesn't get in the shooting lane and the Nucks mighty one goal lead is extinguished.
Worse... 30 seconds later, Blues score on the rush that even Huggie couldn't break up. Bluies lead 3-2.
That was quick.
No matter. With Lanky on the bench and as ever the Nucks wasted their odd-man advantage. Or did they? 17 seconds left, puck out in center ice, Huggie pulls his stuttery redemption step, passes to Pete, over to Brock for the buzzer beating high glove side goal. Wooo!
WOOOO HOLY SHIT! Bess with 2.7 left to tie it.
Twitch
Technically, this is a win. And also a loss. That's why they invented 3-on-3 OT. Which is not our friend.
OT
As we might have seen in previous OT losses, the Nucks line changes almost always result in an odd man rush that results in the winning goal. For the other team.
As much as it sucks, this was a good outcome. Nucks went from losing a 4 point game to only losing a 2 point game. I don't understand the math either, but that's the matho-magical silver lining.
Single point beats none. Right? RIGHT?!? #Canucks

OBSERVATIONS
I've got nothing. But a mouth full of former cavities and numb face. Feeling numb is probably our fate next month, so I'm on trend.
The sky is pouring...
Another loser point for our painful collection this season. Flames win and Blues win tonight. Canucks lose 4-3 in OT after chasing the game until 4 seconds in the 3rd to tie things up. #Canucks #stlblues #NHL

At the very least the #Canucks snatched a point from the jaws of regulation defeat. But that last OT shift was pretty damn frustrating.

Damn... that was a good game... shame to lose it on a bobbled puck and a bad timed change. #canucks

I blame Tocchet. Why was he playing Debrusk and not Brock #Canucks
— thegreatdandino (@thegreatdandino.bsky.social) March 20, 2025 at 7:11 PM
Absolutely unconscionable line change by Jake DeBrusk gives the Blues a 2-on-1 and Phillip Broberg gets the game-winning goal in overtime. Getting a point is huge for the #Canucks but that finish hurts.

Finally... some lucky soul hasn't watched many Nucks OT games this season...
That was the worst OT i have ever seen. #Canucks
— Willett (@willettgoboom.bsky.social) March 20, 2025 at 7:11 PM
Lankinen deserved to win that OT. The rest of the #Canucks didn't.

Jake DeBrusk was not good tonight. He was sold as a playoff performer and came up way short. #Canucks

At least we still have Huggie.
#Canucks Kierszenstat of the night. Since Quinn Hughes joined the NHL in 2018-19, there have been 36 times that a defenceman has recorded at least 50 assists in a season. Hughes has done it 4 times.

Kief talks for 60 minutes. No... talks about playing for 60 minutes.
Brock going 201.
Taco talks about certain parts of the game and the sloppiness, they got to clean up.
Thus began the 6 game road trip through playoff hell. Playoff hell just to get to playoff hell. That's the path through this eastern tour. Next game it's pancakes and Canadian maple syrup. For us. Not the Rags, they can choke on their Bettman burgers.
