Good News! The Nucks won another game in SoCal!
Bad News! The Nucks won another game in SoCal!
Perspective is a funny thing. You either have it or you're a Nucks fan.
Sure, we wanted to see the Nucks F*** the Ducks. The 4th worst team in the league.
But we also do NOT want to see Bedard drafted by that 4th worst team in the league. (Bedard update - scored his 70th goal of the season tonight)
We want to see Bedard drafted by the 8th worst team in the league. Or the 7th worst if the Nucks keep stringing wins together. Others, some or just the one, want to see this team - the team with $14M tied up in two of the most overpaid 6th and 7th D-men - want to see this team make it to the 2nd season THIS season!
Anyhow... we're here to hear about this one tiny insignificant game between Pacific bottom dwellers where the win/loss implications are very significant in a few short weeks.
In this game, the Nucks inherited the LA strategy - shoot lots more - get a big lead and win the game.
Nucks score first on JT's shot from just outside the left SO circle. Or right circle if you're the goalie that didn't make the save.
Canucks playing the opposite of last night...dominating the shot total
Westy
That's all scoring action for the 1st.
In the 2nd, the Nucks SoCal-loving PP Pete got the only goal of the period. Pete had the time and space to launch a wicked wrister into the net. No wonder the Nucks PP always try to get the puck to Pete.
Moving onto the 3rd, while western stomachs were still digesting, the Nucks took the LA strategy into the mid 3rd. Despite the Nucks PK being perfect again in 6 minutes of PK time, they let the fowl get a goal.
Which posed a game thread wonder...
Can the Nucks hold on? 2-1
Westy
Turns out they did hold on. Claimed the full 2 winner points and left no loser points for the 4th worst team in NHL hockey.
Final score: 2-1 Canucks.
Not making it up. It happened... Nucks win a 2-1 game, when was the last time this season?
Canucks 1-24 when scoring less than three goals...that win is today
Westy
Wait! What?! The 1st time the Nucks have won scoring less than 3?!
Another feather in Demmer's helmet.
Oh wait... this was a Silvs win. Wow!
Guess this was a good win. At the wrong time. Oh well... us part-time tankers can get some satisfaction on Tuesday in the ROG against the Swollen Nights.
Disneyland Vid
The 2 Johns are calling a 2-1 Nucks win. First time for everything!

Disneying Pressers
Pete competes. Keeping Bedard out of our rink.
Silvs is no sieve. He's playing elite. Just a little too late in the year...
Less Interimie Tocco is pleased with this bounce back effort.
Pete and Huggie are having their best seasons yet. If only the rest of the team got on that best season yet train early in the season. The the 2nd most uttered Nucking phrase... if only.
Still fun to see this team that was so bad to start the season is playing at the level we thought they would - at the beginning, middle and all season.
Has the RikTok rockin' system made the difference? The roster tweaks? The meaningless no-pressure section of the season?
Let's find out.
