'Twas the night before the holiday break and all through the ROG not a rumour mongering fog could curdle our nog.
Good news! Pete's 6 game goal drought is broken.
Bad news! Pete might be broken. Left the ice early in the 3rd and didn't return.
The Nucks needed a win. We needed a win. And the GWG from Pete was setup by JT and Quinn. All is right in Canucksland.

Nucks break open the score-lock late 3rd, when an unattended Sherwood breaks into the Sharklets zone and scores. Hoagie picks up a vital assist on the play. Nucks lead 2-1.
It might be late in the period, but something we love to see, but haven't seen often enough recently, Pete scores! Gets a wickedly sneaky backpass from Gnarly to shock the Sharks.
Causing a coach's intervention. Which results in the goal staying on the board and Nucks to the PP. Which causes the floundering Sharks to take another penalty. Which results in a setup from JT and Pete posts a laser off the post and in.

And, with that exhausting prep work completed, Nucks can work prepping the 1 goal lead strategy as the Sharks score in the last 15 seconds of the 3rd.
Happily the Canucks can carry a 1 goal lead for another few seconds and get the most important home win since the last one. Wooooooo!

Could be soured until we find out if EP is going to be ok, and was only a little nauseous after healing a years-long 'rift' with JT with a single goal.
OBSERVATIONS
Pete scored twice. Confirms he still has the skill. Big relief.
JT assisting on the goal that stopped the Van media frenemy frenzy was also a relief.
Now we can get back to our staples... griping about the Nucking D, other than Huggie.
Sherwood has 12 goals and is still the best FA signing this year.
Anything else? Yes!
