DEMMMERS GETS HIS 1ST 59 MINUTE SHUTOUT OF THE SEASON!!!
This was the big bounce back game we wanted. That Taco required. Ok, that we required too.
JT starts the tone of the bounce back game early in the 1st, with a power forward move around local BC Traitor, MacKinnon and to the net.
Nucks D-zone coverage is stout and winning more board battles and clearing the zone with... regularity.
Speaking of board battles, Nucks 3rd line are winning many board battles vs the Avs, unlike last game where the Nucks hardly won a bored battle.
Tonight, Kiefer Sherwood, puts the hard won puck past the other *****wood. Great 3rd line shift and garbage clean up.
WOOOO SHERWOOOD!!!!
Twitch
1-0 Nucks after 1 and looking to keep the lead. No, really.
In the 2nd, Nucks and Demmers keep keeping the Avs and their traitoress stars off the scoreboard and into that wonderful self-doubt chamber - that chamber where some of our players often spend many games.
Late in the 2nd, for some stupid reason, Makar steps on Heiny's stick and of course that's an instant Nucks penalty.
Doesn't matter. Because Demmers and the stout Nucking PK, who had killed 2 stupid penalties in the 1st are going to do something magical.
Or at least Kiefer is. At the Nucks blueline, Sherwood strips BC's local hockey traitor and takes the puck the other way. With hAlberta's traitor D chasing him, Kief streaks into the Avs zone and blasts a shot high glove side to score his 2nd goal of the game! (NOTE to Pete: When you have a clear look, don't think so much about the cute 5-hole and shoot the puck into the goalie's pads)
Look at Sherwood with the SHORTIE. Ha take that Avs.
Chicky
It's the Game Winning Goal! Really! The 1st Nucking Shortie of the season! Took 30 games, but what a goal!
Nucks lead 2-0 after 1. No, really.
Sure, the Avs and their stars of traitordom push hard and spend more time in the Nucks zone getting frustrated with Demmers making insane saves after amazing saves.
Last 3 minutes, Avs pull their Canadian traitor goalie and go 6-on-5.
The ROG is chanting 'Kiefer Sherwood' since the late 2nd. And while we're guzzling the Kiefer milk, Kief the Chief, scores the EN!
Wooooooo! KIEFER HATTIE!
jimmi
His 1st NHL HATTIE! Wooooo! A natural hattrick! Not one of those overly-processed hatties corporate hockey gambling try to get us to bet on.
3-Nothing Nucks with a minute to go. At which time, Idjit Dave on sportynet jinxes the Demmer shutout, by mentioning a shutout for Demmers on the air. Cheech wouldn't do that.
In the final minute that team of talented traitors finally get a puck past Demko. Booo!
Not going to whine... too much. It's Demmer's 1st win of the season in only his 3rd game. Yay!
Nucks Kief defeats the Avs 3-1 in the ROG!
OBSERVATIONS
Best ROG game yet? Could be. And we only need to keep on Kiefing in the free ROG. Kidding. Nucks seats cost the same inflated price win or lose. And they say pro hockey is a results based business.
Like Lanky showed earlier this month, Sherwood is proving the best FA signing of the summer. He scored a gritty 5-on-5 goal. Beats MacTraitor on the PK and gets his (our) 1st shortie. And scores the poetic EN goal from his own blueline. It was a SuperNatural Hattrick. Extend him now, please.
Demko was getting into his All-World form, all game. The incredible saves on the 1st attempt got more incredible on the 2nd rebound shots. We missed Thatcher and we hope he stays far away from BC Faeries bad scheduling.
JT's line, especially JT played great up against that big, fast, skilled traitor. Setup Gnarly for some really good looks, that Gnarly couldn't or wouldn't convert that would spoil the One Player VS 23 narrative we're pushing.
On the Petey side, it was another blah game. He had his looks, spent too much time thinking and not enough time shooting on instinct. He was the only Nucking forward with a +/- of -1. Other than Blueger, but Teddy doesn't make $11.6M a season, so Pete needs to get his Alien lifeform back in the game. Soon. Otherwise, PA might be taking roster composition advice from Elliot and that won't end well.
Nucks PK was great. Stymied all 4 Avs power plays. Seems impressive, but those talented traitors haven't scored on their PP in high double digit attempts.
Won't mention the Nucks 2 unpowered PP attempts. And that's for the best. No need to gild the net, when a single player on your team can score all the goals.
Anything else? Yes!
Hard fought road home win played with emotion, intensity, determination and many other superlatives!

PLAYERS 'N TACO TALK
Kiefer getting ALL the Goals and 1st star accolades.
Miller gets to answer questions about Sherwood.
Demmers talking good things about the PK, puck management, Kiefer and messaging Dave later.
Taco reminds everyone that Demko is a good goalie and doesn't have much more to say.
Nucks get another rare road home win - by playing the full 59 minutes! Who knew?
Nucks finish this home stand with a 3-2-1 record. That's pretty good, even if the bonus countdown effect is a little cute.
Back on the road for a 2 game stint. Starting on Thursday Wednesday versus a hockey club without a name in a rink the Nucks have never played in, in a place where NHL hockey is played on game consoles.
Until this season. The Nucks play the former-Yotes, a team that beat the Avs as well, so Nucks better take their A road game into the desert. We've had our fill our good game/bad game roller derby hockey, thanks.
