NUCKS GET A BIG WIN - FOR QUINN - WITHOUT QUINN!!!
There was more than a little trepidation coming into this game against the Sens - who are a young talented, if very undisciplined team. However, it's a road game, so no worries.
I've said it before... Quinn is the best player on the Nucks. The best D in Nucking history. And one of the best D of the NHL all time. And Nucks have to play 45 minutes of hockey without him!
What?!
Thug Huggie takes a boarding call and gets a game MISCONDUCT! Drink. 1st major penalty of his career.
Just 12 minutes in and the Nucks have to kill a 5 minute major. And do.
All the other D have to step up. And do. Even Soup and Myers. No, really.
Nucks get their own PP later and score! With Ronnie quarterbacking and DeBrusk tipping a Gnarly shot. The only Nucking PP goal as the Nuckles went 1 for 6 on the night. Did someone mention the Sens are undisciplined?
1-0 Nucks after 1.
Early in the 2nd Sens get another PP and this time younger Upchuck scores. Why didn't JB draft him or his older brother? We do not know.
Hello to the Shut Ins who only showed up for the metal tunes.
Ripper
Debrusk scores, Quinn game misconduct.
Fuck Ottawa.
Doesn't matter. As this is a Nucking road game, a Nucking depleted roster now playing with 5D.
No worries. Because this is a Nucking road game, where rookies are rewarded.
Teddy gets a goal and Sasson gets his first point

Nucks lead 2-1. For a few minutes and then instead of giving up the lead, extend it. No, really.
Canucks are outworking Travis Green's team

3-1 after DeBrusk scores
2nd goal for DeBrusk. No goals at home. Lotsa goals on the road.
Nucks lead 3-1 after 2.
Nucks start the 3rd with more jam from the Pete/Kief/DeJake line.
More jam on the goal line. And jammed into the net. Kief with the GWG.
Now the undisciplined Sens start getting into box trouble. Nucks smartly kill off a minute forty-five on the delayed penalty playing keep away - the Brady boy takes a call and it's a Nucking 5-on-3.
Nucks can really put the game away.... but don't. And the refs give up calling penalties because that'd be too many.
Sens could be a good team, if they would just grow up. Temper tantrums all over.
Westy
At least 3 interference penalties and no calls
Sens score
We're not worried.... despite the Sens getting within one with 43 seconds to go. That's as close as they will get.
breathing again

Canucks win
Nucks win 4-3! On The Road. Our True Nucking Home!
WOOOOOOOOOOO!
OBSERVATIONS
Surprisingly, the depleted D elevated their game. Myers and Soup played their best game of the season. Even if many times they were playing on separate pairs. 😉
Soup was plus+2 on the night! No, really.
Ronnie was a minute-munching beast. Branny looked good with Ronnie. At worst, if Huggie decides to join his brothers in Jersey, we'll still have down market options.
The Pete/Kief/Jake line were playing fast, hard and scoring. Pete laid out Shizzle in the 1st. When Pete is hitting, Kief responds. Put up a career high of 10 hits in the game.
Great to see Sasson get his 1st NHL point with speedy play and a nifty spin pass.
Our old Greenie complained the Nucks were 'gifted' all their goals. Sure, most were from Sens turnovers, but how soon Trav forgets the number of fresh turnovers he Nucking coached in the ROG. And the Nucks gave up more turnovers (8-6) and yet the Green Sens didn't convert.
Refs needed to eject more Sens in the 3rd. Lost control of the game... but HNIC pressure gets to all the zebras when uncle Ron is watching.
Nucks without JT suck in the dot. Won 34.5% of their draws. Ugh.
Nucks PP without Huggie, JT and Brock really sucks. 1 for freaking 6?!
Anything else? Yes!
Hard fought for Quinn win!

It's HNIC Saturday night. No Shortie. No Dave. Just bear with them... because it's a gutsy win.

Nucks get the sweet road win. Without Quinn. Or Brock. Or JT. Or Demmers. Good job!
Next up, our old nemesis, Boourns, who haven't been off to a good start. Let's keep it that way, no matter what Frank said.
This next road game could be the toughest one yet. Or not. That's why we have to watch them to find out.
