Will the Canucks come to the rink tonight? That is the only question I have for tonight's game. It seems that a few players come to play each night, but not the whole team. Petey has come to play, while JT and his noticeably injured body and mind, was benched for part of the last game. Not even going to speculate what's going on with J.T., just hope he gets well. This version of the defensive core is not it. There has to be an upgrade in the bottom four and I think Hogs might be the bait. It has been frustrating to watch over this home stand the lack of intensity for long stretches each game.
And yet this team is still in 3rd place in the division. Having to struggle early is not a bad thing. Having injuries early on in the year and still being in a competitive spot has been nice. This team just has to find a way to win enough games against average and below average teams, so that when Demko comes back.....Brock comes back (he skated today) and Miller gets healthy, this team can start working towards being a strong playoff team.
Until we get this unicorn of a lineup, we are left with this team who will have to face a good Rangers team. The Rags have only lost 5 of 16 games all year and yet they are 4th in the Metro division. I would also argue that New York has been getting average goaltending from Igor so far, which doesn't bode well for his opposition for the rest of the year, as he looks to secure a big free agent year contract. The Canucks and Rangers split the season series last year as each team won their home game. I wouldn't bet on that pattern this year. In fact, in honor of that fucker Messi.... I guarantee a home loss. There....I said it
