Good News... This New Home Road Trip Is Almost Over!
Bad news... lose another road game - this time at home.
The one thing I miss about David Pratt was his complaining about early starts to accomodate the east.

This ROG road game had a pretty good start. Despite starting before dinner.
EP40 was fired up and making plays. Nucks get on the board early with a smart play from Petey, from Ronnie to Petey, to scoring in wide open net. Sweet!
Nucks lead 1-0 after 1. Outshot the Habs 11-4 and dominated the game.
The ROG road got even better in the 2nd as... not making this up... as the Nucks PP scored a goal! No, really. Sure, they just about gave up a shortie, but on re-entry, Huggie fires a shot that gets deflected by DeBrusk and it's 2-nothing Nucks!
And thus ends the wonderful road game part of the program. It's still a road game for the Habs, despite having more fans in the ROG than the Nucks did.
Unfortunately, because of the Conservation Laws of Special Scoring, the Nucks PK gives up a goal since the Nucks PP scored one.
2-1 after 2... however, in that last seconds of the 2nd, R2 takes a tripping call, so Montreal starts the 3rd on the PP.
And because of Nucks PK's bad bounce confusion, Habs score another PP goal and the game is tied.
The Habs untie the game thanks to the momentum-killing play of Kane. Scored just after the Kane penalty expired - yes, he took a really stupid penalty in the O-zone, because that's why they hired him - for stupid plays at bad times.
Way to go kane... stupid penalty by a stupid guy. And the shittiness of him to complain about it the whole way to the box.

Anyhow... after his penalty expired, Montreal is getting their fans, their mojo going, they score to lead 3-2.
And score again to lead 4-2.
With 4 minutes to go, Footy pulls Lanky and the Nucks get their own (sorta) PP. Petey slaps a hard slap pass onto Gnarly's stick and the deficit is only one goal. Yay!
And then the Nucks press again. This time with Kane on the ice. It doesn't go well. Finally, Kane is off the ice and the actual skilled players press again for the EQlizer... and Nucks get close, but for Bess whiffing on his shot.
Nucks give up a 2 goal lead and lose 4-3 in the road ROG to Montreal. Mon Dieu!

EP40 was channeling his inner Alien - got a goal and 2 assists.

Kane did not score, did nothing but hurt the team. And now we're seeing what the coaches cannot - for possibly FBI-related reasons?

The Sky is angry... not without reason.
#Canucks have to start benching players taking stupid penalties or penalties in the offensive zone. Can’t keep giving opposing teams momentum or freebies on the PP.

Kane’s penalty was dumb. When he first came here I thought he would be ok because he really wanted to be here. I was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt but now I’m done hoping he’ll contribute in any meaningful way

He was a big part of the Oilers losing the Finals last year so I liked him for that. Had hoped he would score goals and be a physical presence but he has been useless. Foote needs to stop putting him out when the game is on the line.

"System?" I keep hearing people using this word, but looking at the generally ineffective clusterfuck that I've seen from the #canucks this year, I do not think that word means what they think it means.

And do we need to worry about Lanky yet? Has 1W and 3L and those losses weren't all on him. However, it could be that Demmers will have to play more games this season than are ideal.
How was the new kid?
Reichel looked pretty good having just been dropped into the Canucks Chaos line. Of course, being on a line with Kane meant he was on the ice for 2 goals against.
