Redundant Tanking News! Last Place Locked! Again.
Good news... Canucks played like shots on goal is optional. Apparently not.
Here's what we learned:
Canucks scored on just their 5th shot of the game. Mid 2nd period.
Managed to get into double digit shots after 60 mins with 11 shots! Impressive!
Tolo managed a .929 SV% while facing 28 shots.
#Canucks Kierszenstat of the Game: With tonight's loss, the most home wins Vancouver can finish with this season is 9. It is the first time in franchise history they will not record at least 10 home wins in a season.

Tanks for watching!
Period 1
Nucks didn't score any goals on their 2 shots on goal.
Vegas didn't score any goals with their 10 shots.
So... Nucks put 2 shots on Hart... what an impressive goalie... managed to stay awake during the Nucks 15 minute shot drought.

Good lord they haven’t been shooting the puck, the person above us were literally yelling “we want shots!” #Canucks

A big cheer as Victor Mancini records the #Canucks first shot of the night 14:28 into the first period

With that dismal 1st out of the way, #Canucks can focus on their fav period. The 2nd period. Oh... wait...

Period 2
You may not believe it... those still awake in the ROG didn't right away.
Canucks score the first goal of the game. Would have been nice if it was the only goal of the game.
Was the only Nucks goal of the game, so they were half way there.
However, within 5 minutes, Vegas scores on Tolo - seemed like a screened shot. Also unfair after his 5 alarm saves on Marner and stoning Stone.
1-1 after 2. Nucks getting - surprise - outshot 12 - 5.
More scientific evidence. 2nd periods are too long #Canucks

Period 3
Nucks try to pushback using the same trick from the other periods. Stay in your own end and wear down the opponent.
Might have worked.
But it didn't. Staying in their own zone resulted in another goal into their own net.
2-1 Vegas.
On a rare positive note...
With 7 minutes left, the #Canucks have 7 shots on goal yet are only down 2-1

Canucks draw a late PP and use the 6-on-4 to keep the Footey from getting scored. Sorta like winning, but different.
Bright side #Canucks - Lose in the ROG - while not giving up a Footey. Progress!

Nucks lose another ROG game. Have only won 8 home games all season. Only have a chance to win one more. Nice.
Getting close to another record.
#Canucks finish the game with 11 shots. That is the second-lowest total for a home game in franchise history

I guess they're a sign the team is close on the scoreboard, if not in play. That's about as rose-coloured glasses as I can get about them.
-- Thursday
OBSERVATIONS:
This basement team has set a record in the cap era. The least number of home wins.
Your disowned Canucks had 32 shot attempts and 11 shots on net. Not good enough... or is it when you're last in the league?
Players of Interest:
One of our faint hopes extinguished.
The #Canucks will finish the 2025-26 season without recording back-to-back home wins

Low or no event hockey?
10 shots on goal. Ten. That ain’t gonna get it done in the #NHL. Such is the lesson to be learned by the 32nd and rebuilding team. #Canucks

Correction: 11 shots. Same conclusion.

Could it be a coaching issue?
That's bloody embarrassing. The latest example of how Adam Foote should never set foot in an NHL arena as a head coach again.

Ownership better not cheap out and keep him on next year -- literally unwatchable hockey #Canucks

Or more than that?
Last in goals scored, last in goals against, worst penalty kill in the league, 18 points worse than any other team. Canuck management should acknowledge how bad this season has been and just refuse to name a team MVP.
