Canucks beat the refs and the fascists!
-- Twitch
Good News... Brockstar scores! Twice! Including GWG!
Bad news... blow 2 goal lead. Twice.
Fresh from his ballsy return from the Faeries Friendly Fire incident, Brock gets his revenge. Puts Sorrows into flashback time.
Nucks start the game well and are rewarded with a goal against, compliments of an EP40 fumble at the o-zone blueline and a Myers' take no-man, take no-path, make no-play play. 1-0 Preds.
Doesn't matter as the Canucks get a PP. And get a goal! Not a 1st unit one, but a 2nd unit goal, from Kane! Not making it up. His 1st Nucks goal in his 14th game.
Kane now on pace for 7 goals this season!!
-- Ripper
1-1 after 1 and, believe it or not, Nucks outshot Preds 12-4.
In the 2nd, Nucks score again. On the PP. No, really. Despite looking slow and boring on the 5-on-3, DeBrusk scores in DePaint 5-on-4. Nucks lead 2-1.
And Nucks extend the lead, as smooth skating Willander skates into the predatory zone drawing all kinds of gawking from the predatory D, goes behind the sorrowful net and backhands the puck out front where it bounces out to Brock who blasts it past Sorrows. Willy's 1st NHL point! 3-1 Nucks.
With couple minutes to go in the 2nd, Nucks have the safest lead in hockey. R2 takes an iffy call and the Nucks iffy PK gives up a goal. 3-2 after 2.
In the 3rd, because hockey doesn't make sense, Kane scores again. On a delayed penalty. Setup by Huggie... did we miss his dekes? Yes we did! Anyhow, M-Petey puts the puck on net, Karlsson swats it over to Kane, who has enough time to both score and take a stupid penalty. Decides scoring is enough. This time.
4-2 Nucks early 3rd and they're ready to close this one out.
Or are they?
Nucks get hemmed in and can't clear the zone. Preds pressing and a shot from the point is kicked past Demmers. Apparently not a kick just a redirected bunting skate. Ugh. 4-3 Nucks.
And because they haven't jobbed a goal for the locals, refs call a phantom high sticking penalty on Kane. There was no high stick. But there was a Kane. Close enough for the NHL's discount beer league refs.
Kane is dumb and takes dumb penalties but I’m not sure there was a real infraction there. Refs stink. #Canucks

Been a while since we've seen game management like this. Thanks refs. #Canucks

Nashville is in trouble. I saw tickets for sale for 10 bucks.

Memo from Gary: prop 'em up!

And of course, Nucks PK can't preserve the lead and the refs have tied the game. They must be so proud.
OT
Canucks get Huggie out there to dazzle the locals and confuse fans as the strategy appears to be just get the game to the shootout and let Demmers do the rest.
Our OT has been a hot mess so far.

HOWEVER, in the last few seconds of this scrappy OT, Petey and Brock get their own gritty scrappiness down low. Looks like they've lost possession and Forsberg blows the zone. But sneaky Pete out-competes ROR and knocks the puck over to Brock who puts a sneaky backhand past Sorrows. Woooo!
What a beastly play by Boeser and Pettersson to win the puck back after losing that offensive zone faceoff. And then the clinical finish by Boeser. #Canucks

Nucks beat the official-powered Preds 5-4 in the last second of OT. WOOOOO!!!!!
OBSERVATIONS:
Canucks got jobbed a few times, but overcame home-ref advantage with timely goals from Brock. And Kane. Not everyone was cheering for Kane. Was anyone?
Despite evander Kane's best efforts the canucks win #Canucks

Sherwood's goal drought extends to 2 games. When will it end? O'Connor hasn't scored since last game.
Willander is making his case to find an apartment in Vancouver. Please don't trade him.
Great to see Brock pot 2 goals. As well, despite the awkwardness, Nucks PP got 2. Sort of. Kane's goals count. This time.
What a relief to have Huggie back on the ice. He controls the game. Going to be tough watching him control the game in a Jersey jersey.
Death, taxes and Brock boeser with last second goals in Nashville lol #Canucks

Brock and Petey, like the good ol' days never left! #Canucks

Brock should be on SVU cause he loves killing the Predators. #Canucks
— DJTaxman77 (@hugheshart43.bsky.social) November 3, 2025 at 8:22 PM
A win for the Nucks and no points/players for the Faeries!
The #Canucks won the game and no player left with an injury. That should count as two victories in the standings.

EP40 no shots, but 2 points and more importantly, the Game Winning Point (GWP)! #Canucks

cOilers lose in regulation. Nice. I think they need Kane back. He’s hot, on a one-game in a row scoring streak. They could use that firepower. #Canucks

#Canucks Stars vs Predators 1. Boeser. Brockstar with a Gordie Howe low trajectory backhand. 2. EP40. Looked like an impassioned hockey player on the winning goal. 3. N/A Game Note: Demko needs to channel his inner Patrick Roy in the 3rd period.

GAME HIGHLIGHTS
Commanding Nucks win, kind of - with Shortie and Dave giving out the road coverage.
Scrambly OT, but beautifully poetic ending!
GAME STATS

COMMENTING OUT LOUD
Willander turning smooth skating into a short, smooth presser.
Kane scores and gets a presser that counts.
Footey is all over the presser. And the refs.
Nucks dominated the Preds, not the refs. Nucks PK is still needing more dominance.
Nucks have climbed back on top of Mount 500. That's a relief. Home to the ROG on Wednesday for a mini-home stand. Hopefully with even more relief in the form of Faeries returning captives and Nucks getting more wins.
