Redundant Tanking News! Last Place Locked Up! Again.

Good news... Canucks got 20 shots and got a goal. That should cheer up any Nucks fan.

Here's what we learned:

Nothing special in this game. No power plays. For either team. Sutherland rules.

LA took advantage of our young D. Repeatedly.

But still... what happened to that road team that potted 8? Once a season treat.

The Nucks are the worst team in the league. Coached by the worst coach in the league. That tracks.

2-1 LA after 1. Kings outshoot Nucks 11-7.


Period 2

Some or at least Footey thought the Nucks played a good 2nd period. Guess it was good because the Nucks PK didn't give up any goals. That LA never got a PP is not important.

They didn't score 5-on-5 either.

Until the last 30 seconds of the period. When Kempe tips a shot from the point past Tolo.

3-1 LA after 2. Nucks getting - only a little - outshot 12 - 9.

Period 3

Nucks try to pushback using whatever they have left, which isn't much.

Then Nucks luck took the air out of the road tires.

Point shot coming in and D-Petey tries to deflect away from the net. Deflects into the net. Goal credited to Moore as the puck grazed his jersey on its way past a shocked Tolo.

In a game where the young Nucks D were making mistakes, this was one of them.

4-1 LA. And the Nucks are not coming back. Kings lock it down. Using their heavy outmanning D-zone technology. On one shift Bess breaks into the LA zone and discovers there's 5 LA players closing on him and no Nucks nearby.

In the final few minutes, down 3 goals, Footey plays his great Footey strategy.

No Footey was scored. Although LA did try many times to get the puck to Kempe for the EN and a hattie. Weirdly, when the Nucks were 6-on-5, they played their best defense. There's no explanation.

Kind of amazed there hasn't been a goalie goal this season. Lord knows, Vancouver's given them plenty of opportunities!

But still... still time for another miserable record to complete this miserable season.

OBSERVATIONS:

Footey was a bust as a junior hockey coach. Shockingly, he's even worse as a NHL coach. And just so we understand how bad this is, he's signed for another 2 seasons.

Because Franny hates paying for coaches not to coach, he won't want to fire Footey. TBF, he paid Footey this season to not coach as well.

Players of Interest:

• Zeev was weaving and Zeeving trying to make things happen. Got tripped / mugged couple times, but Sutherland rules says the young punk probably deserved it or something.
  

Nucks have been outscored 24(4.8 GA av) - 14(2.8 GF av) in 5 games so far in April, 1-4 (probably) record.

This team is really coming together, really buying into & 'getting' Foote's system (😬). If only the season was longer they'd really be able to make some noise.
