Great Tanking News! Last Place Secured Again! For The 7th Straight Time!
Good news... Brock scored another PP goal! Sherwood can't catch him now.
Here's what we learned:
Canucks won the 1st period! No, really. 1000th game Kane scored the only goal of the period. We were thrilled.
However, as per the unfair NHL rules, 2nd periods are 2 minutes too long. Nucks give up 3 goals in the 2nd and only score 1. Vegas odds hurt us again. And 2nd periods.
Worst part was giving Torts his 1st win as the new coach of the Knighties. Gifting him a Footey must have felt so special.
Attention #Canucks fans! Please lobby your local NHL and NHLPA rep to limit all periods (the 2nd especially) to 18 minutes. Tell them they'll make more revenue selling additional commercials for vehicles we can't afford to buy or put gas in.

Tanks for the memories!
Period 1
Nucks are on the strip to make some noise. Or find new bookies.
Vegas looked meh to start. Nucks caught them with a few odd man rushes. And scored on one of them. Goal from our local odds man himself.
#Canucks win a period against the house, with a goal from an experienced Vegas gambler!

Nucks lead 1-0 after 1.
Period 2
This might sound familiar, but 2nd periods are not the Nucks luckiest period. Some say it's the most cursed period in Nucking history.
Vegas ties it while the Nucks suffer from defensive amnesia. Forgot about math and counting to 5. Open man hits the open net.
Ah, dang!
Being unable to control the defensive zone has been a HUGE frikkin' problem this year. Lankinen is doing what he can, but guys...
-- Thursday
Tied up 1-1. But still Nucks get a PP and make the most of a special moment. Brock deflects Ronnie's shot past the Hill.
BROCKSTAR!!! ๐ #Canucks

NOW someone has passed Kiefer Sherwood on the #Canucks scoring list. For real this time
— Lachlan Irvine (@lachinthecrease.com) March 30, 2026 at 8:31 PM
Nucks retake the lead!
Or so we might have hoped. 2nd period is winding down and Nucks can relax and not worry about giving up an odd man rush. Which they do.
Getting tired of hearing "down the middle, and he scores!"
-- Thursday
Tied 2-2 and a minute later the tie is no more.
Kane and/or DeBrusk miss the open man and the open Vegas man scores the GWG.
Kane with the complete lack of defensive cover. #Canucks

there's the 2 quick goals against in the 2nd period. everyone knew it was coming. #canucks

Confirmed. 2nd periods are 2 minutes too long. #Canucks

3-2 Vegas after 2 and the comeback kids aren't.
Period 3
Vegas locks down the tables and the tables aren't turned over by the Nucks.
Wouldn't be a valiant losing effort without a Footey, would it?
Lanks to the bench in 3, 2, 1โฆ #Canucks

Nucks lose their 7th in a row with the 4-2 loss.
The basement is filled with 50 plus years of losing memorobillia.
#Canucks Kierszenstat of the Game: Vancouver allows at least three goals in the second period for the 13th time this season. The Canucks have allowed a total of 106 in the middle frame which is tied for 11th all-time in franchise history.

Can this Footey-coached team get close to setting another record... a record to live on in infamy?
#Canucks now up to 44 regulation losses which is tied for the seventh-most in franchise history.
— Adam Kierszenblat (@adamkblat.bsky.social) March 30, 2026 at 9:47 PM
Tied for 7th?! That just won't do.
— NucksMisconduct (@nucksmisconduct.bsky.social) March 30, 2026 at 9:49 PM
OBSERVATIONS:
It is disappointing that the #Canucks could not deliver for Kevin Lankinen tonight as he had a strong night in net. Lankinen is now 1-12-1 in his last 17 games.
— Adam Kierszenblat (@adamkblat.bsky.social) March 30, 2026 at 9:58 PM
Better road game than the last one. Same outcome without the gawdy scoreline. But a loss is a loss and while the Nucks and Lanky looked good to start... the finish looked like the worst team in the division, in the league, getting outplayed by a team on its way to big revenue time.
The second period continues to be death. Decent pressure in the third, but couldn't get shots on enough. Pretty good first.
Won the special teams battle, anyway!

Players of Interest:
Remember when Bruce gave us an 8 game win streak? Nucks could get a different kind of streak to put a big fat splotch on the last month of the season.
The #Canucks next four games are against Colorado, Minnesota, Utah and Vegas. If they lose all four in regulation, they will tie the franchise record for the longest regulation losing streak which sits at 10.

This game was winnable, but the second period was weak again, and now the #Canucks are off to a couple of scheduled losses. *sigh*

GAME HIGHLIGHTS
Shortie and Dave back on the road calling the loss!
GAME STATS

COMMENTING OUT LOUD
Bess scores a goal and a presser.
Kane in his 1000th half naked presser.
Footey was right there. In the presser.
At least this loss will stay in Vegas. They have a number of strip malls dedicated to reselling lost things.
Now the easy game is out of the way, Nucks get to perform at a high level. Hopefully, the Avs have spent their goal quota for the week with their 9-2 flambaying of the Flams. Something to watch for - in the 2nd period of Wednesday's game.
