We know the Nucks at home are slightly allergic to starting 1st periods strong and fast. On the road for a brunch or lunch game, it's more than an allergy, it's almost anaphylactic terror.
Especially on the 2nd early game of a Back-To-Back. Sure, we knew the Nucks were probably so giddy after picking up a loser point they may have had one too many Sarsaparillas in the Mall of America.
Sarsaparilla poisoning and travelling and something something must explain it.
10 mintues into the 1st period, Nucks were out hustled and out shot 10-1. With 5 minutes remaining in the longest opening period of this road trip - since the last game - the little Fawkers had outshot the Nucks 12 to 1 and out-scored the Nucks 1-0.

Fortunately the Nucks were able to put a bit of a shine on this turd. On the PP! Not making it up. Nucks finish up their 5-on-3, a shot block disables Murphy - as is his law - and Millsie feeds Pete for his sweet one-timer.
1-1 after 1. That's not so bad, considering how horrible the start was.
To start the 2nd, Bedard helps the Fawking PP to get a fawking PP goal. Ugh. And worse, after reviewing the video after the 45 second window of calling for a review, seems the puck was out of play and then returned to the ice.

However...
In the rest of the 2nd... the Nucks 2nd period restored their full ownership of 2nd chances and tips. Gnarly sets up Josh for a great tip. Then Bess walks in and blasts his 23rd goal past Mirzilke. Nucks have the lead.
But need more. Tipping. Miki tips Myers shot from the point and the Nucks lead 4-2 after 2.
The game is won. No really.
Sure the Fawking sleeze team gets another goal in the 3rd, but it's not the tie. Nucks get 2 points and lunch is barely over.
This game was penciled-in with indelible ink as a Nucking win. Since the Nucks are top 3 in the NHL and the pathetic Bedard thieves are last.
I remained calm from start to finish and we won

That's easy to say... But was a closer game than expected.
Two morning games, it feels like youth hockey again.
The first one I missed, I expected a 4PM game and found out that it barely started after I got out of bed in the morning.
Thank God I missed it.Really happy about the win in Chicago, another shitty morning game that nobody should watch.

Taco seemed relieved to get 2 points and get the Taco out of Chowcago. Know that feeling.
Not to get all braggy and stuff.... but not only are the Canucks 2nd in the Pacific, they're 2nd in the western conference.
Wait! There's more! Nucks are 2nd in the entire league! 3 points behind that desert gambling team. Weird?
Maybe not. Nucks last home stand win streak set them on a smooth, but bumpy ride on the road.
More road work to finish, however. Nucks are in Smashville on Tuesday recording some country tunes to make Kent's skin crawl - or they're there to play the Preds for a dinner game.
