Game Preview and Gamethread #71: Canucks vs Sharks

March 23, 2023
- Westy

SHARKS (19-37-15) at CANUCKS (31-34-5)

10 p.m. ET; SNP, NBCSCA, ESPN+, SN NOW

I don't want to jinx, but this sentence probably does....the Canucks are very close to having a 70% penalty kill. Maybe there is something to this coaching a system thing. The Canucks lost their last game due to some boneheaded plays in their own end. Those plays have been less but playing a good team like Vegas does remind you that blindly passing the puck to no one is a bad idea.

The Canucks have some sort of winning streak against California teams right now and that would usually mean that a back up goalie comes in and beats the Nucks. Unfortunately, when you want the Canucks to lose and get a better draft spot, they find a way to win. So, I really have no fucking clue what to expect tonight except Petey and Miller will get a point each.

Gameday Chatter

Quinn Hughes is good at his job.

Wolanin played his way to another contract

OEL done for the year

Gameday Battle Hymn

Kent usually picks some loud metal band and he has a great story about them that ties into hockey. I am not Kent, especially when it comes to music. Although his German metal band was a jinx in the last game. Tonight I choose Vancouver's own, Odds. I wish I was someone like Kent...someone who is cool

Comment System How-To

New NM, new comment system. Still uses words and stuff. Hover over the icons to see what they do.

The most vital function is image embedding. Paste the link to the image in the comment box. When the comment is posted, the image appears. Most of  the time.

NOTE: Remove the non-image name jibberish. If the image link has any stuff after the file extension - usually a ? with directives like: woo.gif?size=480 blah blah - delete up to and including the ? - simples.

GIF it up for Westy! Or still life in rum.
NOTE: Comments refresh every 30 seconds. Not fast enough for most of our lightening round contestants. We are working to increase the refresh speed. Just... not working too hard... because NM labour guidelines. Thanks for being patient!
