With that spirited loss last game, Nucks now can settle back into chess-hockey for the final ROG tilt before going on the road to solidify their spot in the standings. Standing? Feels more like laying around waiting for the draft lotto balls to shower us in false hope.
LA are a few points out of the last wild card spot in the west. They really want to get Kopi one last 1st round exit. Understandable. Need to try a bit harder. Although they did pick up 3 loser points and a win in the last 5 games.
Kings have collected more loser points (18) than any team in the league. That's a record that could have been ours... but for that regulation hump.
To that end, Professor of Obtuse Hockey Strategy, A. Footey is putting Lanky back in net for his 5th straight game. In case the game makes it to Lanky time. Which it won't.
Or perhaps it's Tank Commander Footey - keeping the tank on track to overwhelm the mathematics. Or... he's just flailing around trying to save his very short NHL coaching career.
Doesn't matter.
What matters is we're getting closer and closer to the end of this miserable season.
